Our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Josephine Harris peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, June 4, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1957, in Portsmouth, VA to Joe Harris and the late Caroline Harris Woodberry. She graduated from Norfolk State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in food science and nutrition. For over 35 years, Josephine was a devoted employee of Old Dominion University Food Services (which transitioned toAramark Corporation).
Josephine was known for her quiet, calming presence. Herhumble, faithful, and genuine nature allowed her to make a profound impact on those around her. She was well-loved by all who knew her. Josephine enjoyed traveling, music, and most of all cooking. She was truly a culinary expert. Her running joke was “Food don’t owe me nothing.” Most importantly,Josephine loved to share the Word of God through witnessing within the community and involvement with letter writing and telephone ministries.
Josephine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her lovinghusband Bobby Moore; daughter, Lakeshea S. Love (Owen, III), and son William L. Harris (Ashley). Josephine was a proud grandmother to Laqueshea Morning, Lameshea Love, Ke’Aisha Harris, William Harris, Jr, and Rayquan Harris. She leaves behind four siblings: Rufus Carter, Elizabeth Henderson(David), Ella Jackson (Keith), and Loretta Benard.
